Creativity in Hungary

Our time in Hungary covered that awful Covid period. We travelled back to the UK in March 2020 and just managed to get back to Nyiregyhaza before the boarders closed.

During this time I set up a studio area in our apartment before later getting a studio space in the city centre. I worked there on paintings, drawings and Lino cuts. I tried to do something creative every day

I worked on a series of chairs that represented people that I was missing, both through living in Hungary away from family and friends and how everyone was missing someone through the restrictions.

During this time I also started work at the university teaching English to International Students. This was a fantastic experience and one that I will never forget. I met some wonderful young people from all over the world; art students too!

I’m looking through my photos from this time; one good thing about technology, they are bringing back so many lovely memories! A lot of pictures of sun burn - mad dogs and English men go out in the midday sun!!
