A warm welcome to Lemon River Art!
Why 'Lemon River Art '?
The name was dreamed up by my business partner Sue!
Sue is based in Darlington, up north, and I’m down here in Newton Abbot, and didn’t even know what our local river was called. It had a great ring to it and connects the business with our location and Lemon River Art was born!
The River Lemon is a 9.9 miles river in the county of Devon in southwest England. It is a tributary of the River Teign, starting on Dartmoor by Haytor, and ending in Newton Abbot.

In September 2024 Sue made me ‘an offer I couldn’t refuse’ - help to get a website up and running and support to get my work out into the world in various forms. For me this has been a dream come true.My background is nearly all art based. My degrees are in Fine Art, from many many years ago. I had a stint working in the mental health field too.
Currently I have a studio based at Seale Hayne, Newton Abbot. I produce my own work, teach workshops in painting and printmaking, as well as providing art sessions for Phoenix Bay School. I’m also a part time barista - its harder than it looks by the way!In September I took part in Devon Open Studios which was a fantastic experience. There are a number of artists based here at Seale Hayne, so a group of us took part together. It was so lovely to get to know my artist colleagues and also meeting the public interested in the arts - many great conversations where had.
